First Oklahoma Bank will support customers who rely on federal government payments during a government shutdown.
For a reasonable time period, the Bank’s policy will be to treat customer accounts as if they received their federal government payment on time, provided that they have a depository account with First Oklahoma Bank.
That means, if a customer overdraws on their account due to not receiving a federal government payment, First Oklahoma will cover debits and checks drawn on that account up to the amount of a regularly recurring check at no charge.
Customers impacted by the government shutdown and who are covered by First Oklahoma Bank’s policy include:
- Military service members
- Federal employees
- Government contractors
- Social Security recipients
