Here is a simple three-step guide to help you navigate the process smoothly:

 

Step 1: Submit Your Adjuster’s Report and Documentation

Start by providing your insurance adjuster’s report, which outlines the total amount of your claim. You may bring the report with you when depositing your insurance check or email it to InsuranceClaim@FirstOklahomaBank.com.

The same email address can be used to submit contractor invoices, service provider bills, and receipts for materials if you are completing repairs yourself.

Clear, timely documentation helps ensure funds are processed without delay.

 

Step 2: Understand How Your Insurance Check Is Handled

How your claim funds are distributed depends on the amount of your insurance check.

  • Checks over $5,000:
    Funds will be placed into a secure escrow account at the bank. Payments are then released directly to contractors as invoices are approved. Verified out-of-pocket expenses may be reimbursed, and remaining funds are disbursed once repairs are completed and properly documented.
  • Checks under $5,000:
    Do not endorse the check until you are at the bank. Once all required parties — including the bank — endorse the check, it can be deposited or cashed.

This structure helps ensure repair funds are used specifically for restoring your property.

 

Step 3: Know the Role of Escrow

Escrow plays an important role in the claims process. It is a secure account that holds insurance proceeds while repairs are underway. Funds are released as work is verified and documented.

This system protects both the homeowner and the lender by ensuring repairs are completed as intended and that the property is restored properly.

 

What Homeowners Can Expect

First Oklahoma Bank understands that timely repairs are essential. Typical processing timeframes include:

  • Initial review: 2–3 business days
  • Invoice payments: Within 2 business days of receipt and approval
  • Reimbursements: Within 2 business days after receipts are verified
  • Overall claim completion: Most claims are finalized within 7–10 business days, depending on documentation and repair progress
